Thank you all for entering this year’s Platinum Jubilee Front Garden Competition. We hope you all had fun decorating your gardens. Judging was uplifting and fun. A lot of thought went into the planting and decorations. The gardens added to the great Jubilee celebrations we had in Woodchurch.
The theme for the 2022 competition was The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Fun by planting front gardens with red, white and blue flowers and decorating with bunting, flags or home- made decorations celebrating The Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
- The competition was open to all Woodchurch residents.
- The front garden must be viewed from the road or footpath.
- Closing date was 31st May.
- Judging took place on 2nd June.
To coincide with Woodchurch’s Jubilee celebrations the awards of Gold, Silver and Bronze plus an overall Platinum award for the best Front Garden was presented at the Carnival celebrations on Saturday 4th June

Well done and thank you to everyone who entered the Front Garden Competition, Garden for Wildlife. Judging took place on Monday 19th July, 2021 and we managed to get round to all the gardens before the heavens opened!
The main points were given for Food, Shelter and Water. The main needs for our wildlife to thriveand each garden was judged on it’s own merit. All the gardens impressed the judge and it is fantastic that so many gardeners consider the wildlife we have.
Everyone who entered is a winner but the biggest winner is the wildlife…Thank you!

Woodchurch Front Garden Competition is open to all residents in Woodchurch Village whose FRONT gardens can be viewed from the road or footpath.
This year extra marks will be awarded for front gardens that have been gardened with wildlife in mind, i.e. putting up a bird box or planting for pollinators.

Awards of Gold, Silver and Bronze will be given in the following categories:-
- Small Front Garden
- Large Front Garden
- Hanging Baskets and Containers

The closing date is 12th July 2021 and judging, by an independent adjudicator, will take place after this date.
